Lyndsey Macleod will be working in the gallery for three weeks creating her forms from plaster. We will then have a one week exhibition.
Referencing alchemical symbolism and the use and fabrication of poisons in antiquity, Macleod combines juxtaposing symbols of life and death in these sculptures. Particular emphasis is placed on the production of arsenic in the 17th century, performed by certain perfumers. Specific physical materials are employed to investigate and communicate these ideas.
